Having Trouble in Selecting Between Paris and Prague?; Here Are My Thoughts For You!

 Planning a Europe tour and having trouble selecting between Paris and Prague? I visited Prague and Paris during Autumn 2018 and the opinions here are based on what I experienced as a solo female traveller.

I visited Prague to attend Google’s Firebase Summit 2018 and extended my trip to Paris without choosing between other Schengen countries since I always wanted to visit Paris.

You should choose Prague, the fairy tale city, if you:

Don’t have deep pockets?

You can enjoy good food, clean safe accommodation and travel more affordable in Prague compared to Paris.

Accommodation: You can easily find cheap 9+ rated accommodation in Prague using Booking.com. I stayed at a hostel in the old town close to the Prague castle and it was an excellent location as it was very convenient to visit the attractions.

Food: I really enjoyed the food in Prague and the prices were pocket-friendly. I was not a fan of beer before my visit, but the beer in Prague was really nice and cheap!

Transportation: They have a well developed convenient public transportation system. You can get a travel pass that can be used for bus, tram or metro. I used the train to travel out of Prague to visit some attractions.

Uber and Taxify are available in both Prague and Paris.

Do want to step back in time?

Prague is a beautiful historic city. They have an old town and the new. Buildings and architecture are magnificent. I fell for the red roofs in Prague even before I visited there!

There is a lot to observe and fall for in Prague, whereas Paris is a bit more modern compared to Prague.

Prague is compact and you can walk between the attractions enjoying the beauty of the surrounding architecture and picturesque views. I felt like I am stepping back in time!

Are travelling alone?

There are some scams happening in Paris and I saw them! I didn’t face any problem because I was fully aware of where these happen and how through my pre-research on Paris.

In Paris, you can visit a number of famous attractions compared to Prague.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited monuments in the world — found this on my research before the visit. I always wanted to take a picture at Eiffel tower and post it on social media — mission accomplished!

Are a museum/ gallery fan?

I love paints…visiting Louvre was on my bucket list since when I was taking art classes during school time. So if you are like me you definitely should visit Paris without thinking twice! There are many other interesting museums to visit.

Like shopping?

Paris — the fashion capital of the world no doubt! Plenty of shops for a shopaholic with deep pockets!

I definitely would czechout Prague again and I can’t wait to go back! When I landed in Paris, I was so excited and I couldn’t believe I was there — was so eager to visit this city, but now not as keen to re-visit as I would Prague. However, both cities are magical must-visit destinations. I definitely would love to visit them many more times!!!
